There is a number of different ways to get to Barcelona, the city has a brand new international airport that manages more than 30 million passengers a year, but is too the major hub for cruises in the mediterranium. Those are the main ways to get to the city for most international travelers, but there are some others, here are some tips for you coming to Barcelona.
Coming by a flight?
Barcelona Airport is located south-west of the city of Barcelona, between the city limits of El Prat de Llobregat, Viladecans and Sant Boi. It is just 3 km from the Port of Barcelona, one of the most important ports in the Mediterranean for container traffic and the leader in the cruise market.
ATTENTION: There are 2 main terminals in the airport T1 and T2, they are quite separated from each other, so make sure you know which one you are going. There is a shuttle bus that runs every 6 or 7 minutes that connects the two terminals, is free and the journey takes about 10 minutes.
Here are the main ways to go from the Airport to the city and vice versa:
ATTENTION: Some airlines flight to two other airports, Girona-Costa Brava or Reus, be careful those airports are 100km away from Barcelona.
By a Cruise?
The Cruise Terminals in Barcelona have a prime location, some of them in the World Trade Center are in a walking distance from the Rambles and the rest of the city center.
The cruiser terminals at the Port of Barcelona have excellent transport links: the World Trade Center terminals are just 400 metres away from the public transport network (bus and metro.) The T3 PORTBUS shuttle takes cruise passengers from Plaza de Colón in central Barcelona to terminals A, B, C and D (Palacruceros) on the Adossat wharf.
